LK | Print Me

Everytime I need to print a Guide on something useful on the internet, it is always bloated with a sidebar or a weird image/banner.

Ive used alot of addons and stuff which were super cool and feature rich but they quickly fall behind when the browser updates and removes/disables them, usually because of incompatablity issues.

So I took it upon myself to create a JQuery script bookmark which I can inject into any site and voila custom Print Me was born, complitly browser independent.

Now how do you use it?

Add this line of code into a new bookmark as the link:

javascript:(function(){var s=document.createElement('script');s.setAttribute('src','http://lennarkivistik.com/apps/jquery/PrintMe/printMe.js');s.setAttribute('type','text/javascript');document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(s);})();

Example from Chrome:

Example Chrome Bookmark

Done!

Now just go into your website of choice and click on the bookmark and start trimming :)

Disclamer: the script is not in anyway compatible with every site out there.

 Example Print Out of this Page:

By clicking on the bookmark, a menu bar will be placed in each div, where you can select to print the div and it's contents or remove the div.

You can also close the menu bars or exit the PrintMe Script.

Removing the sidebar from my print, if I would have wanted to print more than just the article.

 Here you see that I have removed the sidebar and am ready to print the article div.

and you can also see a yellow menu where you can decide to remove a picture in the div.

 and after clicking print, you will be presented with the print menu (in chrome atleast.)

Enjoy!
